Influenced by the dynamic sounds of Yes, Genesis, U2, and the cinematic genius of Hans Zimmer, Marcum's musical journey commenced at the tender age of six, nestled behind a piano. 

His formal musical education blossomed at the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy in the late ‘70s, where he honed his improvisational skills. This creative spark continued to grow throughout his collegiate studies in the ‘80s at North Texas State University, where he majored in classical music and began integrating progressive rock and New Age improvisations into his repertoire.

Kent’s passion for seamless genre fusion has led to an illustrious career filled with both solo performances and band collaborations throughout the late ‘80s and ‘90s. His diverse musical exploration produced a rich catalog praised for its depth and versatility. Notable albums like "The Passage of Time," “Mirrored Reflections,” and "On A Clear Spring Day," testify to his ability to capture and convey intricate emotions through sound.
